Entry Interview Alerts
Hear when an interview slot opens at your centre, in your state or at any centre.
com.ibrahimtxy.entryalert · Travel & Local
After conditional approval you book an interview at an enrolment centre, and the nearest free date can be far away. Slots open when others cancel or when a centre releases more. This app checks CBP's public slot list for the centre you chose — or every centre in a state or the country — and tells you when a date inside your window opens.
This app never signs in, never asks for your PASSID, membership number, passport number or date of birth, and NEVER BOOKS, HOLDS OR CANCELS AN APPOINTMENT. It reads the same public slot list you can open in a browser without signing in, and tells you when an appointment opens. You book it yourself, on CBP's own site.
What it does
- Pick your programme — Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST — and one enrolment centre, a whole state or every centre
- Choose how far ahead counts as news (7, 30 or 90 days) and the days and times of day that work for you
- Already booked? Only slots before your current appointment date count
- Get told when a centre goes from nothing free to an appointment inside your window, with the date and how far away it is
- See every open slot at a centre day by day, and the soonest openings across a state or the country
- Each centre's address, phone, directions and notes, with Call and Directions buttons
- Alerts from several centres are grouped under one summary; a widget and every screen show when the last check ran
- Phone and tablet layouts; 191 bytes a check for one centre (a day or time filter reads CBP's full list, 4.8 KB a page), one request for a whole area, and the running total on screen
How you set it up
You create one watch — for example “Global Entry, JFK, within 30 days” — and close the app. At the interval you choose it checks interview appointment availability at enrolment centres; when an interview appointment opens your phone gets a notification. It never tells you about the same thing twice.
Who it is for
Travellers waiting on a Trusted Traveler interview, and the families and assistants chasing one for them.
What it does not do
- It does NOT book, hold or cancel an appointment. It points you at CBP's own site; you book there yourself.
- It does NOT sign in and never asks for your PASSID, membership number, passport number or date of birth.
- It asks for no account. No sign-up, no password.
- The developer collects no personal data and adds no analytics or crash reporting. In the free version the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects IP address, app interactions, diagnostics and device IDs (see Data safety).
- The free tier shows Google AdMob ads: a bottom banner, rewarded ads you start yourself and an “Ad”-labelled card inside the list; no full-screen ads between pages or on launch. Paid members see no ads and no ad request is made.
Version history
0.22.0 (2026-10-28)
- Watches added before 0.21.0 now use the centre's own clock once you pick your programme on the Find tab again: same-day openings are no longer hidden when your phone is hours ahead.
0.21.0 (2026-10-23)
- New: watch every centre in a state or the whole country with one check, and list the soonest openings.
- New: day-of-week and time-of-day filters; every open slot at a centre, day by day.
- New: centre details (address, phone, directions, notes), the last-checked time on every screen and a tablet layout.
0.20.0 (2026-10-09)
- New watches get their first check without waiting for the next round; the daily data estimate is no longer too low.
- Free watches full? An optional rewarded ad adds 2 more watches for 24 hours.
0.19.0 (2026-10-01)
- New: enter your current appointment date and only openings on earlier days are reported.
- New: a home-screen widget shows the nearest open slot at your centres and when it was last checked.
- Watch and check results appear above the ad strip; a late-loading ad card no longer shifts the screen.
- Update and rating windows no longer overlap; no full-screen ad loads when memory is low.
- Changing the language keeps you on the same tab; for paid members the ads SDK no longer starts at launch.
0.18.0 (2026-09-27)
- Watch and check results (added, how many found, errors) now appear above the ad strip.
- A late-loading ad card no longer shifts the screen (no accidental taps).
- Update and rating windows no longer open on top of each other.
- Updated the ads library.
- Changing the language keeps you on the same tab.
- With paid membership the ads SDK no longer starts at launch.
- No full-screen ad loads when memory is low (crash fix).
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | To avoid pointless attempts while offline, and to tell mobile data from Wi-Fi. |
INTERNET | To reach the CBP scheduler's public appointment pages. |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS | To tell you an appointment opened. That is the whole app. |
READ_BASIC_PHONE_STATE | So the ads library can tell Wi-Fi from mobile data. It grants no access to your phone number, IMEI or call log; the app does not declare it, the ads library adds it. |
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED | So your watches resume after the phone restarts. |
VIBRATE | To vibrate when a notification arrives. |
WAKE_LOCK | So the phone does not fall asleep in the middle of a check. The app does not ask for this itself; the background work library (Android Jetpack WorkManager) adds it. |
BILLING | So you can buy a paid membership through Google Play. The app does not declare this permission itself; the Google Play Billing library adds it. Your payment details (card, address, invoice) never reach the app and are never seen or stored by it — Google Play takes the payment. All the app learns is whether your membership is active. |
AD_ID | Ads in the free tier are served by Google AdMob, which may read the device advertising ID (AAID). The app does not declare this permission itself; the ads library adds it. Paid members make no ad request at all. You can reset or delete the ID in Settings › Google › Ads. |
